Step into the recently opened Pokémon Center at Jewel Changi Airport and you will be overwhelmed both by the crowd, and the sheer number of items that are on sale. From notebooks to plushies, this place is nothing short of heaven to those who grew up with the franchise (time to unleash that inner Pokémon fangirl/fanboy). Here’s our list of what to buy:
1. SQ Pikachu
Pikachu takes to the skies as pilots and cabin crew of Singapore Airlines — while stocks last, that is. Each customer is only allowed to bring home 5 of these special Pikachu — arguably one of the centre’s most popular signature products. Both keychains and plushies are available: the plushies retail for $28 each, and would undoubtedly make a great +1 to your collection.
2. Eevee Coin Pouches
Looking for something cute yet functional? Look no further. These fur babies are almost impossible to pass up (it’s Eevee, after all). The coin pouches come with non-detachable straps — effectively doubling as mini-bags — and are made with soft faux fur.
While the pouches come in 3 different sizes, we recommend going for the medium one (pictured above on the right): it’s sure to attract envious glances but doesn’t compromise on the functionality aspect (it’s large enough to store a few daily essentials). Prices from $13.
3. Pikachu/Eevee Hand Towel
Celebrate spring with your very own Pokémon hand towel — floral-themed and available in 2 designs (Pikachu and Eevee), these are great eco-friendly options (who needs tissues?) which fit nicely with the trending #greenmovement in Singapore.
