Who doesn’t like a good flea market bargain where you can get your hands on that pre-loved, handmade, one-of-a-kind neckpiece? Add to that live music, sparkly fairly lights, and food trucks, and you’ve got yourself an art market that’s just sooo hipster.
While flea markets have been popping up all over Singapore, none have been as big – or well-loved – as Bangkok’s ArtBox. If you’re a frequent visitor of Bangkok, you’d probably agree that this pop-up bazaar is the epitome of hipster clutter disguised as a night market.
ArtBox is a travelling pop-up market of sorts (it changes locations), which focuses on local designers, vintage fashion, and gourmet food trucks. Of course, you can expect some blog shops and kitschy knick knacks as well. All of this is artfully presented in rows of shipping containers, garnished with live music sets and millions of fairy lights.
And guess what? This pop-up market for the millennial hipster is actually making its way to Singapore this April!
The very first ArtBox in Singapore will host a whopping 200 stores, with dedicated dining zones. You can find anything from hipster foods, clothing and accessories, as well as home decor and handmade products. For your entertainment, there’s a main stage as well as photo points for your obligatory Instagram shots.
There are opportunities for you to rent a booth at this park too: pre-sale rental is going at 16,200 baht (Original price 18,000 baht), or SGD$651.60, for 3 days.
Located at the picturesque Lawn@Marina Bay, the site is HUGE (7,000 sq.m.) – however, after all that looting at this massive bazaar, you’ll be glad to know that Downtown MRT is just a short skip away.
