The indie boys’ sold-out performance

The 15th March 2013 was a highly anticipated day for FUN. fans in Singapore, who showed up in the hundreds at The Coliseum™ at Resorts World® Sentosa, as the indie-rock band made their first stop of their international tour here in Singapore.
The band arrived in Singapore the night before and attended a press conference the afternoon of their concert day. During the press conference, they answered many questions pertaining to their career and their music creation process. When asked who they would want to collaborate with in the future, Nate Ruess said the band would love to work with Paul McCartney as they would learn a lot from him and his wealth of experience. When asked about how they felt about winning Best New Artist at the Grammy awards this year, even though their band has been around since 2008, the band humbly replied that consider themselves as new artistes as they’ve only recently gained success in the mainstream music industry.
Fans started queuing outside Hard Rock Café five hours before the concert and were finally allowed into The Coliseum an hour before the start of the concert. Fortunately I was only a couple of rows from stage and I got a spectacular view. The band opened with a bonus track, ‘Out On The Town’, from their second studio album, ‘Some Nights’. During the concert, the band also performed three songs from their first studio album, ‘Aim and Ignite’.
FUN. performed each song with so much passion and energy, that there was never a dull moment. The entire crowd was either singing along or jumping to the beat of their catchy tunes. The band chose to save their best for last by closing with their biggest hits ‘We Are Young’ and ‘Some Nights’, but they chose to end off on a more intimate note with one of their slower paced songs, ‘Stars’ which serenaded the crowd. The boys from FUN. also promised to be back in Singapore again soon, indeed, it was a FUN. night!
