Following the incredible success of its first event last year, GameStart 2015 is coming back this year, bigger and better. Held at the Suntec Convention Centre and with more than double the floor space of last year’s event, over 60 hot new games and partners like Sony and Bandai Namco, it’s set to be an event to remember.
This year, attendees will be able to experience the future of gaming and also be the first in Southeast Asia to experience the hotly anticipated Playstation VR headset. In a huge double storey exhibition booth, they will be able to get hands-on experience of the new device with games like ‘The Deep’ (an underwater simulation) and ‘The London Heist Getaway’ (a first person shooter). Sony’s booth is 30% larger this time around, and the entire second floor will be dedicated to the VR headset, so be sure to check it out.
Another first for SEA will be the chance to experience the ‘Star Wars: Battle Pod’, an awesome treat for any ‘Star Wars’ fan as the ‘Battle Pod’ is a new, experimental arcade game that resembles the cockpit of a ‘Star Wars’ space ship. Players will be able to take control of some of the films’ most iconic vehicles and battle it out in locations like the ‘Deathstar’, which brings players closer than ever to the feeling of being a space pilot.
In addition to the international companies, GameStart is also providing support for start-ups and indie developers who are just finding their feet in the gaming industry. With over 30 independent companies taking part this year, a much larger number than last year’s 8, they will be located at two sections of the show – Founders Base and the Singapore Gamebox booth. Comprising of exhibitors from Singapore, Barcelona and Hong Kong, all showcasing their products, there will definitely be a large variety of exciting stuff on display.
Not only will there be a host of great upcoming games to try out, such as ‘Street Fighter V’, ‘Star Wars Battlefront’, ‘Just Cause 3’ and ‘Dark Souls 3’, there will also be show matches, featuring local gaming teams for the much anticipated ‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege’. This will be serve as a preview to the game prior to its release in December. Gamers will also have the chance to witness the ‘StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void’ Anniversary Tournament Grand Finals, which promises to be an epic display.
With all these amazing companies and games on show, GameStart 2015 promises to be an incredible event that should not be missed. You can buy tickets here – Prices are $12 for a One Day Standard ticket and $22 for a Two Day Standard ticket.
