Republic Polytechnic (RP) and The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC) is proud to present its annual IGNITE! Music Festival, which will be happening on 4 to 16 August 2014 at Republic Polytechnic Lawn. Since its inaugural show in 2008, this will be the seventh time the festival is being held and ran by students of RP. From production to liaising with artiste and even stage production, all of the works are professionally handled by the eager beavers of Republic Poly.
Expecting a whopping 15,000 concertgoers, a number that continues to outdo itself each year; needless to say, the artiste line-up for IGNITE! also increases every year, with this year’s takeover giving rise to the local bands. With names like The Great Spy Experiment, A Vacant Affair, The Sam Willows and Plain Sunset — musicians that have continously jolted the local scene with their high-energy tunes — the music fest will have something for everyone as the line-up includes 16+ other talents.
Although the main highlight of IGNITE! Music Festival is happening on its main stage (15 & 16 August); do look out for the other fringe programmes, that include food & drinks, visual art installations and plenty of merchandise! There’s also the chance for you to get your groupie on and get up close and personal with some of the big names that will be gracing the stages.
