Are you ready, Little Monsters? It’s time to see Lady Gaga back in Singapore at the National Stadium on May 18, 19, 21 and 24, her only concerts in Asia! Ticket pre-sales start on March 18 and general sales start on March 21.
The last time Lady Gaga performed in Singapore was at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in 2012, as part of her global Born This Way Ball tour. This means that the concerts in May will be her biggest to date, since the National Stadium’s capacity is 55,000 to 60,000.
According to Live Nation, Singapore will be her only stop in Asia. The announcement came just days after the March 7th release of Lady Gaga’s seventh studio album, MAYHEM, out now via Interscope Records (and available on Spotify). The album contains two singles, Disease and Abracadabra, as well as Die With A Smile, the Grammy-winning hit duet with Bruno Mars.
Singapore was among the first confirmed destinations for her Mayhem concert. The others were Mexico City in Mexico (April 26) and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil (May 3).
Since Singapore will be her only Asia stop, fans brought up certain concerns about obtaining tickets (remember what happened when TayTay came?). Beside obtaining tickets, non Singapore-based fans will also have to contend with possible increases in airline fares and hotel room rates. At the moment, no ticket prices have been released.
While Singapore fans can rejoice, others may wonder why there were no dates announced for Japan – which is traditionally a mandatory stop in Asia for most artistes. Well, it’s still early days yet, and who knows what other locations will be revealed in the coming days?
Fans of Lady Gaga will know that the A Star Is Born soundtrack, which includes the chart-topping song Shallow, won her an Oscar, Grammy, Bafta and Golden Globe – and made her the first woman to win these awards in one year.
