In case you missed it, our current Gender Issue hit the shelves last month, and if you’re wondering what you’re missing (if you don’t already have a copy of it by now), here’s a summary:
It seems that colours and products have genders, as we explore in “Blue for Boys, Pink for Girls” (p.2), “Heels, Corsets, and Skirts” (p.12), and “All in One Package” (p.18).
We also discovered that there are lots of issues when it comes to being female, what with the world being designed against them in “Sexist by Design” (p.7), and the double standards women face in “What’s Eating Eve?” (p.3). Then there’s the UTI problem (p.5) and the fact that the ages of consent don’t really give girls adequate protection (p.8).
Men don’t have it much better, as we discover male nipple issues in “Points of Contention (p.20) and how men are guilty of “Mansplaining” (p.13). At least they get to dominate the gaming world (p.19).
Rounding out the issue, we discover that the Nobel Prize is more inclusive (p. 9), that there is a new sexual preference of none (p.17), and the difference between beauty in the east and west (p.16).
