Windson Liong, Mabel Yeo and Crystal Cordial tell us about their dream, passion and reality
by Angela Low
Windson Liong
Pursuant is a musical all about dreams. What dreams did you have as a kid?
My dreams were pretty simple when I was young. I’ve always dreamt about wanting to see snow to find out if it really feels like cotton candy! And I’ve also always wanted to experience a white Christmas. I was fortunate enough to finally fulfill those dreams in 2007, and yes, sometimes snow does feel a bit like cotton candy! Very very cold cotton candy though!
You play the lead character, Ethan in Pursuant. How does the character relate to you in reality?
I can relate very much to Ethan because we are actually pretty similar in the sense that dreams are our main motivations in life. They give our lives purpose and direction and propel us to take actions towards making them a reality.
Mabel Yeo
You’ve got a great passion for acting and singing, which is perfect for musicals. Was it an easy journey, preparing for Pursuant?
I’ve been very fortunate because I fell in love with singing and performing from a very young age. So being on stage has rarely been anything more than being pure fun and enjoyment at being able to perform for an audience. I still remember the very first musical I watched was the Phantom of the Opera, and I was absolutely enthralled by the spectacle and of course, the singing and acting; there was nothing I wanted to do more in life.
What can audiences expect from Pursuant?
Audiences can expect a lot of laughter, spectacle, great acting, a witty plot, and amazing music. Pursuant is for every individual no matter their age. We hope that through the watching of this musical, people will be inspired to dream bigger and freer, and be motivated to dream no matter what stands in their way.

Are there any difficulties working in this industry?
1) I think the main difference is working with people I’ve never met before. It takes a while to form acting chemistry but the cast is just so friendly and nice that it wasn’t a challenge at all.The industry is overwhelming with talent which worried me because I felt as if I wasn’t worthy to be working with such good actors and singers. However I realized that this just made me want to improve more on my acting and singing!
2) Another difficulty was getting back into that acting mode. After the long six month holiday I had to go back to talking to myself to memorize lines and singing everywhere to make sure I’m singing the right notes. Everyone thought I was crazy but I explained myself and now my friends are used to it.
