A recent discovery has been made – lots of diagrams from science textbooks actually look like shitposts. In case you haven’t mindlessly scrolled on the Internet long enough, “shitposting” is the deliberate posting of random, mildly entertaining and troll-ish content on social media with absolutely no context. Shitposts are hilarious and confusing, but that’s the best thing about them.
Shitposting seems to be a natural occurrence in science textbooks. The diagrams are so random and comical that it’s hard to believe they were actually printed for the purpose of educating students.
