Sarah Cheng-De Winne serenades the crowd with Brand New album

With side swept curls, a beautiful purple fitting dress, eye catching arm candies and a gorgeous smile, local singer-songwriter Sarah Cheng-De Winne took the stage and delighted the audience with numbers from her album- Brand New. The first song of the night, “Happy Ever After” is an easy listening ballad with very meaningful lyrics and Sarah nailed every falsetto, emotion and transition.
“Brand New” epitomises her renewed perspectives on life and relationships. Sarah’s emotional rendition of “Parallel Lives” narrated the sadness and reluctance of letting go of an uneventful relationship. “Just me” is a powerful anthem that was written in response to a serious accident last July, where Sarah suffered only minor injuries, with no logical explanation other than divine intervention.
There was never a dull moment with Sarah. She kept the audience at the edge of their seats with her exhilarating performances, and when she is not singing, she kept them engaged with thought provoking anecdotes.
The showcase ended with a fast paced, energy packed track ‘Past Midnight’. Just one minute into the song and one cannot help but groove to the beats and sway along to her rich and jazzy voice.
