This year’s Cover-Me CAMPUS received entries from all over Singapore! Out of the many entries we received, we weeded out our 6 finalists. You’ve already seen these guys on Instagram and on FB – but who are these young adults? Well, here’s a a sneak preview into their lives.
Temasek Polytechnic
Studying: Diploma in Business Studies
A die-hard football fan who happens to also play for Temasek Polytechnic’s footy team, Casper Lim essentially breathes and eats this tactical game. A sport he recognises as a bonding tool, and a game he will go great lengths for, Casper also believes that playing football helps to shape certain qualities like perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication. Not just your average tough football player though, Casper Lim takes great pride in his appearance, as he believes that a new age man should not only rough it out on the field, they should be able to preen themselves equally well too.

Trishna Goklani, 19
Temasek Polytechnic
Studying: Diploma in Apparel Design & Merchandising
Trishna’s passion for fashion is evident through her versatile and colourful wardrobe. Though she does admit that while she loves every bit of fashion, it isn’t always as glamourous as it makes out to be. There are things that need to be done that she might find difficult to execute, like sewing, but she perseveres on because she knows fashion is her calling. Even to her friends and loved ones, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Trishna has chosen fashion because she’s been following trends since she was a kid. To perpetuate that astute fashion sense, Trishna continues to push herself further by learning how to sew on youtube, travelling overseas to attend summer courses on fashion, and dabbling in fashion photography.

Sakxay Sengaloun, 19
Singapore Institute of Management (SIM)
Studying: Diploma in Management Studies
Hailing from Laos, Sakxay Sengaloun is not one to stay put. Having completed his secondary education in Shanghai, China, and now pursuing a diploma programme in Singapore, he already has plans of moving to UK to further his studies. With neither Chinese nor English as his first language, Sakxay learnt these languages by interacting with his friends. A humble, free-spirited guy, it’s actually hard to pick Sakxay out of a local crowd because he does such a great job in assimilating with new environments. Unbeknownst to many, Sakxay is also an avid dancer – most of which he has taught himself – and his passion lies in hip hop dance, especially Korean pop and dance.

Cheryl Ann Chong, 18
Singapore Polytechnic
Studying: Diploma in Creative Writing for TV and New Media
An avid fan of America’s Next Top Model, Cheryl is a bubbly and fun girl with a passion for modelling and fashion. She watches the reality programme to gain inspiration and to learn from fashion gurus a tip or two about personal style. Though she may be interested in high fashion, Cheryl’s dream is to become a multi-skilled journalist, working towards her dream by pursuing a diploma that covers the various aspects of journalism. Be sure to keep an eye out for this up-and-coming journalist in the near future!

Isabelle Ng, 19
Nanyang Technological University
Studying: Degree in Business
NTU business student, Isabelle, is looking to create her own clothing line after she graduates. To understand the workings of blogshops, she’s currently modelling for various other blogshops and competitions. She has also attended many fashion shows such as this year’s Digital Fashion Week. Currently in the midst of specialising in marketing in her course, Isabelle will be interning at Elle Singapore to further learn the ropes of owning a fashion enterprise. We look forward to seeing her styles and clothes displayed at shops pretty soon!

Yubin Ooh, 19
Nanyang Polytechnic
Studying: Diploma in Mass Media Management
An easy-going, sociable person who loves trying out new things, Yubin is currently looking to keep his options open in terms of a field to focus on. But he has his eye on being in either Public Relations or advertising. Journalism is also an option as he has interest in that field as well. Coming from a very close-knitted family, Yubin loves spending time with his family. During his free time, he is always looking to explore new hangouts to take his entourage around.
