The Body Shop has always been an advocate of Community Fair Trade. It is their obligation to ensure equitable treatment of farmers. Together with experienced artisans of the field, The Body Shop provides countless of products made of the finest ingredients from around the globe.
One of their best sellers is the Tea Tree Oil. The organic tea tree oil comes from the foothills of Mount Kenya. The Tea tree leaves are picked by hand and steam-distilled to release the oil. Interestingly, only a small amount of tea tree oil is extracted from a long tea tree. This shows the preciousness of the oil.
According to The Body Shop, their trade with the Kenya Organic Oil Farmers Association encourages sustainable and organic farming methods which help to preserve the area’s natural biodiversity. Under Community Fair Trade, the farmers basic needs are met. Most importantly, their children’s education will also be provided for.
The Tea Tree Oil products contain natural ingredients such as tea tree oil, lemon tea tree and tamanu oil. At the Operation Blemish Free event last Thursday, Head of Training, Irene Teo, mentioned that a small amount of Tea Tree oil is enough to keep skin clear by removing blemishes, reducing the redness of skin and encouraging healthy skin growth. It is also effective in reducing acne scars. Moreover, it has one potent antibacterial properties.
A similar product, the newly launched Tea Tree Cool and Creamy Wash, effectively removes all impurities and excess oils instantly, leaving skin looking fresh and soft. The fresh menthol fragrance is a nice complement to its superb cleansing function. The final step to achieving flawless and healthy complexion is to use the above two with the Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub. The scrub contains exfoliating micro-fine beads that unclog pores, giving skin a softer feel. These three are the essentials for clearer skin.
