Here’s this week recap of some of the events that happened across the globe.
WORLD: NORTH KOREAN OFFICIALS VISIT SALON OVER ADVERT
In London, M&M Hair Academy used a photo of Kim Jong-un’s infamous hairdo in hopes of getting their name out there, in which they did. North Korean officials were then reported to visit the salon to express their discontent for mocking the country’s revered dictator. Even though, a police report has been made by the hairdressers, there have been no other forms of interaction between both sides, but, one thing is for sure, Kim Jong-un’s hairstyle is definitely not as favourited as it is in North Korea.
SINGAPORE: PROPERTY AGENT CAUGHT RECORDING UPSKIRT VIDEO
For taking an upskirt video in a lift at an HDB block in Jalan Membina, property agent, Dave Teo, was sentenced to four weeks of jail. The property agent feigned ignorance when he was caught red-handed through the reflection by the victim. He tried to escape when the victim and her husband found him at a nearby coffee shop but was caught with the help of passers-by. According to a psychiatric report, Dave had been overwhelmed by life problems, which probably led him down this foolish road.
TECHNOLOGY: US AIRWAYS’ PORN TWEET
US Airways probably didn’t proofread their tweet before hitting the send button in response to a customer’s complaint about her flight delay, as with the tweet came along an explicit photo of a nude woman with a toy plane. Leaving the tweet up for about an hour for the rest of the Twitter universe to scrutinise, US Airways eventually took it down and apologised. Morale of the story? Always check what you’re tweeting or you’ll end up being a laughing stock.
CELEBRITY: MILEY CYRUS HOSPITALISED
Due to an allergy reaction to antibiotics, the Queen of Twerk had to be hospitalised and even cancelling her show in Kansas so she could recuperate. Even though many fans were left in disappointment after hearing the news, they all wanted the star to get well. It appears that this is not the first time she cancelled her show for health-related issues. Perhaps all the licking of the hammer has made her vulnerable to illnesses? We don’t know but one thing’s for sure is she needs to take better care of herself for her fans.
HEALTH: POP ART CONDOM
In Africa, The Center for African Family Studies (CAFS) collaborated with a Kenyan artist, Michael Soi, in a project to release an eye-catching condom line to promote safe sex and raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. What’s so special about these condoms are the pop-art packaging that Michael have designed to disguise the product so that people will not be shy to purchase them. The condom line is expected to be a huge hit with the younger generation as they have had people calling them asking where they can purchase it. This is a positive start to reduce the threat of HIV/AIDS in Africa, especially since there are around 1.6 million people who are infected with such diseases.
